5 years ago on Labor Day
I got my whole freaking world rocked
Five years ago on Labor Day, my ex left unexpectedly (we had never so much as mentioned the word “divorce” in 22 years of marriage). The actual date was 9/7. So he basically tried to ruin the whole week of September for me lol. Typical. And fitting. Now I can “celebrate” two days every year. 1) Labor Day—the day I got to stop doing wife labor. And 2) September 7—my single-versary. The labor of caring for a man-child husband was waaaaaay harder than the labor of caring for my actual children (or the times I was in actual labor birthing those children). If you’re reading this and you’re going through a divorce, or you’ve been there, or your spouse cheated, or your kids got stuck with a deadbeat dad, I’M SENDING YOU SO MUCH LOVE. Here are some poems.

Happy Labor Day, y’all.

The Ursula/Mama God poem is EPIC. I hope both your celebrations are just as epic.
