from blushing bride to wedded wife grudgingly spent $20 on used copies of four books I wrote over a decade ago so I could remember what I used to think/feel/believe back in the day took me a minute (months) to open the first one, a self-help book for young wives / some of it is cute, even funny but my stomach lurched when I read my smug & haughty purity culture-fraught admonitions my question is: how was I so beaten down and so arrogant all at once?
