Y’all ever feel GIDDY and full of RAGE simultaneously? That’s me while hate (re)reading this terrible, horrible, no good, very bad book.
Let me explain. So I’m a big fan of
and her mind and her humor and her writing. I reached out to her recently to ask if she’d consider having me on her podcast as part of my 50 interviews in my 50th year. She said yes (!!!) but asked if I’d consider doing an episode of her other podcast BAD W🤬RDS. I’d be responsible for reading 3 chapters of the book Redeeming Love (OH MY GOD) and chatting with her about it.
Hate reading a book I once loved and now despise? HELL YES PLEASE.
I see it all the time at Goodwill but couldn’t find it when I actually wanted it. So I reserved it at the library. BUT THERE’S A WAITLIST. (!!!) So I finally caved and bought it on sale on stupid Amazon.

And, of course, after I wrote furiously over all the pages, I find it at a thrift store for 50 cents today lol.
We’re recording our episode Monday and I can hardly wait.
If you read this book once upon a time, TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS. And go listen to BAD W🤬RDS!
If you still love the book, um, go listen to the podcast so we can help you see the light.
NOW TELL ME YOUR REDEEMING LOVE STORY!
I read most of this terrible book when I was 16. I couldn't put my finger on why I couldn't finish it then. As an adult looking back, I'm proud of my intuition for stopping me.
Just reading the pages you posted, I'm so glad I never read this book.
