so long, cover girl poetry means letting go of the compulsion to cover every base cover my ass and just let what I wrote be enough * This is a poem from my book, jaded. I tend to overthink, over-explain, over-worry, and over-write. So I started writing poetry as a way to NOT do those things. So far, it's working. Love this. I tend to get stuck in the cover cycle too, so this poem is a revelation to me.
