TL;DR: I’m selling a limited edition adult poetry book to finance my unlimited edition kid poetry book.

So y’all have heard me talk about my next book project: a cut-up-poetry book for kids.

If every kid follows through and sends poems, I’ll have poems from 40 kids in the book. I love this for me. And for them. But I also promised them each two copies of the book. Add in shipping, and this could end up costing me around $800.

So I got this idea: instead of a kickstarter, I’ll just sell some art.

Specifically: a limited collectors’ edition pocket-sized poetry book.

There will only be 100 in existence, and I’ll sell them for $20 each. After I pay for the books and shipping, I should have around $800 left to send poetry books to all the kid poets.

I’ve been hinting at the project on Instagram, sharing art with my current favorite word on it and asking people to drop emojis if they like that word too. If the book has a theme (and it does), it’s this word:

I have a list of 110 people so far, which is fun. But I’ve also been around the block a time or 68 and know that, if I ask 110 people to buy something, not all 110 people are going to say yes. So I’ll be asking 200. First 100 to respond will get a signed book with some f-art tucked in the pages.
