My ex left unexpectedly (we had never so much as mentioned the word “divorce” in 22 years of marriage) on Labor Day 2020.
The actual date was 9/7.
So he basically blighted this entire week of September 2024 for me lol.
Typical.
A dear friend texted me last year, called me a badass, and said that Labor Day is totally my holiday because, when it came to my marriage, I was committed to putting in the work over and over (and over and over) again.
Him? Not so much.

The first part of September is rough for me too. The anniversary of my engagement to my serial cheater ex falls (quite unintentionally I assure you) on September 11. Seeing your poem art has for a moment lifted the pall that settles on me around now. Thanks.
