I've dealt with a similar issue as an artist for years. Even before AI, people assumed my work was digitally created and couldn't (still can't) quite grasp that it's not a font, I can't just swap in different text, and no I can't send them a colorway that better matches their guest bedroom.
I don't ever want/plan to use it, either. I don't care if it's easier. I want all my words to be my own. AI can't do that.
Several months/ a year ago, I used AI to generate a big-picture overview for a course I wanted to develop. It gave me nothing I hadn't already created, and I liked my ideas better. Lesson learned!
Thanks for sharing this. I think I'll write a quick follow-up post about my #1 reason for not using AI: my words are how I share my heart. My words are ME. I want people to know ME, and I want to know THEM, and I don't want AI to get in the middle of us.
Also, this reminds me of how important it is to let my readers know my writing/courses/etc are never AI generated. It would feel like I couldn’t trust a creator who did use it, so why would I pass that uncertainty on to people who actually give my writing the time of day?
I hate AI. It’s ruining my industry. Hoping enough people want to hear from real people that it will survive.
I hope so too, friend!
I hate AI and will not use it.
SOLIDARITY

Ugh I’m so sorry, friend.

Also, looking forward to reading that post.
