snow thank you
we just got a rare fall of snow
down here in South Carolina
it was fun for the day but
I wasn’t sad to see it go
snow / marriage / church
did them for decades, some
good stuff for sure but also
so / much / work
the grief outweighed the joy
it was time for them to go

No, it’s not snowing down here right now. I wrote this poem two years ago (I think?), the only time it has snowed since we moved here almost five years ago.
It’s reeeeeallly cold though, and I haven’t owned a coat since 2014.
So, two questions:
What state do you live in?
Are you Team Snow or Team Snow Thank You?
Michigan girl here! I am so torn about snow. It is quite scary to drive in sometimes, but it's also beautiful and helps keep the climate here quite temperate.
As a kid in England I sometimes had to walk to school in the snow - one time I got there and then fainted when I started to warm up. And after 20 years in Southern California I have gotten used to mild winters!
