talking books did y’all know that you can buy books that read to you while you do something else? like exercise or clean or drive or take a bath or cook or roller blade or walk your cute dog unbelievable! * Who likes audiobooks?? Confession: I listened to my very first one last September. I think I’m on #7 now. I still very much prefer reading with my eyeballs than my ears, but I know a lot of y’all love audiobooks. If I drove places or did a lot of housework (I work from home and my kids do 95% of the errands/domestic chores—YES LUCKY ME), I’d probably be more into them. As of last week,
I listen in the car, while soaking in a bath, and my favorite place is in bed. I have sleep headphones that lay flat against my ears. I listen to audiobooks to help me fall asleep. If I get up in the middle of the night and have a hard time falling back asleep, I turn it back on. It's been so helpful!
I absolutely love audiobooks! I can get them from the library and so I listen a lot. I do housework for a couple of elderly men and that is the perfect time to listen to a book. While I’m driving. While I’m cooking. Or sometimes just when I’m sitting and playing a word game on my phone or iPad. I’m a very slow reader, and I find that I read more books when I actually listen to them!
For sure. Audible and the library app have sleep timers, so I will set it to shut off after 30 minutes. I have to find my place the next day. Most of the time I get 10-15 minutes of full comprehension before....ZZZZZZ
I love audio books and listen to them at various times depending on my mood .... mostly walking or when i am putting together a jigsaw puzzle. --- It’s also fun to decide ahead of time what i want to listen to on an upcoming road trip or flight! It’s decadent to have a chunk of uninterrupted time like that to get lost in the book. --- with JADED, i’d definitely reference the printed book during or shortly after listening to the book.... to add marginalia sparked by absorbing the words and be able to ponder what i heard! ---thanks, marla, for articulating with words, so much of what i feel/have felt.
"Talking books" is such a delightful description of audiobooks. (It makes me think of Benny in Ella Enchanted.) I definitely prefer reading physical books, but I have definitely enjoyed the occasional audiobook.
I almost exclusively listen to audiobooks vs reading! I usually listen and then order a hard copy.
Driving with an audiobook is the best, totally changes a commute! But we’re also renovating our house, so I have pounded through dozens of audiobooks and podcasts while tiling, wiring, painting, and scraping popcorn ceilings!! :)

Love audiobooks. It lets me have 3 books going at once! One to listen to, one to read when I’m out, and one on kindle to read in bed at night. 🥰
I like to follow along in the book if I have it!

I ❤️ audiobooks …. especially since I became a Grandma… when she is up we play but any other time is subject to books

Ok, I'll have a go. I like listening to audiobooks in the kitchen at night when I make my lunch for the next day.

I listen to audiobooks while I’m driving to work (although the last few months my audiobooks have been replaced by NCAA gymnastics recaps 🤷🏻♀️🤸♀️).
